Preparation
Before we place your porcelain veneers, we first have to do a little bit of preparation work. During this preparation stage, we remove a small portion of the enamel on the teeth that we’re fixing. This is necessary so that when we eventually place the veneers on these teeth, the veneer shells don’t stick out, look unnatural, or feel bulky. Don’t worry this really is a small amount—just around half a millimeter only! We want your veneers to fit comfortably and look good.
During this preparation stage, we also take an impression of these teeth so that an offsite dental laboratory can make your beautiful custom veneers, designed specifically for your smile.
Placement
After we’ve prepared your teeth and received your veneers from the lab, it’s time for placement. We bond the veneers with a special adhesive and an ultraviolet light. All in all, it’s a fairly straightforward process! A few weeks after we’ve placed your veneers, we’ll ask you to come in for a check-up visit just to ensure that everything still looks great.
Cost
The cost of porcelain veneers can vary widely depending on how extensive the changes are that you’re getting and how many teeth you’ll be correcting.
