Relaxing Dental Care with Sedation Dentistry
For those who feel anxious about getting into the dental chair, we offer a mild form of sedation dentistry called nitrous oxide to help you relax. The use of nitrous oxide, often referred to as laughing gas, can be helpful to relieve anxiety in adults and specifically children and teenagers who may be fearful. Nitrous oxide is a method of inhaling a safe, invisible gas that will help the patient relax during the dental treatment so that they are not anxious. It is administered through a small mask throughout the duration of your treatment and we flush it out with oxygen following your appointment so you are safe to drive home.
Will nitrous oxide put me to sleep?
With nitrous oxide, you’ll be in a deep state of relaxation but still fully conscious. Oftentimes, patients report feeling a bit giddy during treatment—hence why nitrous is commonly referred to as “laughing gas”.
Does my insurance cover sedation dentistry?
Unfortunately, there is no definite answer for this as each patient’s insurance coverage is different. For specific questions regarding your insurance coverage, please speak with a member of our friendly team by calling our office.
