At Red Oak Family Dentistry, Dr. Do and our team believe that it is our duty to give back to the McKinney community. Since 2014, we have partnered with The Samaritan Inn to provide free dental care to those in need.
The Samaritan Inn
Located right here in McKinney, The Samaritan Inn is a comprehensive homeless program that helps people regain confidence, stability, and independence. The shelter—the only one in Collin County—has beds for 160 men, women, and families. In the last year alone, they were able to assist almost 600 residents experiencing homelessness.
Not only does The Samaritan Inn provide emergency shelter, but they also create programs and resources dedicated toward teaching self-sufficiency and life skills.
Our Partnership
Once Dr. Do learned more about the amazing work of The Samaritan Inn, he knew he had to get involved. As your compassionate neighborhood dentist, he knows just how important it is to feel confident about your smile and dental health in order to succeed. Over the years, Dr. Do and our team have worked one-on-one with residents at The Samaritan Inn to provide personalized dental care at no cost.
It’s stories like those of a woman named Prudence who suddenly became homeless and unable to afford to continue her dental care, that inspire Dr. Do and our team to serve residents of The Samaritan Inn by giving them free access to the high-quality dentistry they deserve. Dr. Do was able to restore Prudence’s fractured, stained crowns and give her a beautiful, fully functioning smile once more. A new smile allowed Prudence to feel confident as she interviewed for jobs. Prior to Prudence, Dr. Do worked with another resident of The Samaritan Inn, Amy. Amy was experiencing horrible pain from infected and missing teeth. Dr. Do was able to treat her infection and replace her missing teeth with natural-looking, long-lasting restorations. With her new and improved smile, Amy’s health and self-esteem drastically improved.
