Tooth Extractions

The thought of having a tooth removed can make anyone nervous. At Red Oak Family Dentistry, we understand how our patients feel and will do everything we can to save teeth whenever possible. The most common reason a tooth needs to be extracted is because of severe tooth decay or severe pain and infection. If it is determined that nothing can be done to save the tooth and we have exhausted all other dental care services, an extraction will be necessary. Fortunately, many options exist for replacing extracted teeth which will not affect your appearance or the ability to bite, chew or speak.

In the case that a tooth needs to be extracted, it is normally a very routine procedure. Teeth in the front of the mouth have only one root so the extraction is fairly simple. Teeth in the back of the mouth usually have three roots so the extraction of those teeth is somewhat more involved. Our professional dental team realizes the importance of minimizing trauma to the surrounding soft tissue and bone during the extraction of the tooth sand will take all precautions necessary to make sure our patients are as comfortable as possible. Our advanced technology allows our patients to remain relaxed and pain free while our dental professionals complete the procedure with the utmost care.
