Orthodontics in McKinney, TX

We are very proud to offer comprehensive orthodontic treatments as part of our dental services in our state-of-the art office. We honestly believe that using the latest technology will help our patients’ treatments be less invasive and less time consuming. There are several options of orthodontic procedures offered at Red Oak Family Dentistry that can straighten your teeth, such as; traditional braces, clear braces, Invisalign®, various dental retainers.

When your teeth are misaligned and left untreated, it can potentially lead to many dental issues like deterioration of the teeth, discomfort when chewing and speech impediments. Dr. Do can alleviate these problems by aligning your teeth which will result in optimum oral health.

Invisalign

With today’s technology, straightening your smile doesn’t have to come with a mouth full of metal wires and brackets. Invisalign uses clear, removable aligner trays to gradually move your teeth into their desired positions. You’ll wear your aligners for approximately 20-22 hours each day and switch the aligner sets out every one to two weeks.

Invisalign can correct a number of cases, including misalignment, gaps, overcrowding, and bite issues. During your first visit, a digital version of your smile will be created and any necessary impressions will be taken. We’ll send these to a lab where your custom trays will be created. Once your aligners are made and treatment begins, you’ll visit our office every four to six weeks to monitor your progress. Once completed, it’s recommended you wear a retainer to maintain your teeth’s new positions.

Orthodontic Treatment for All Ages

Orthodontic treatments aren’t just for kids anymore! Our office offers orthodontic treatment for all ages and Dr. Do in McKinney will help you choose the option that will best fit your needs to obtain the straight teeth and great smile you’ve always wanted.

Our goal for each patient is to correct the identified problem and restore your bite to its optimum use. Orthodontic treatment can begin while a patient has primary teeth, when there is a mix of primary and permanent teeth, or when all permanent teeth are in. Depending on the severity of the misalignment, treatment may consist of one or more phases including the goals of treatment.

Braces for Adults

Clear dental braces have become popular for adults who do not like the idea of wearing metal dental braces. We are proud to offer porcelain dental braces that are designed to fit adult lifestyles. Porcelain dental braces will blend in with your teeth, almost hiding the fact that you have braces. They are made from a glass-like composite material that appears translucent, which allows your natural teeth to shine through. You will obtain the straight teeth you have always wanted, without having the hassle of others noticing that you have braces!

Contact us today to schedule a consultation about straightening your teeth. We look forward to serving you and your family.

Frequently Asked Questions About Orthodontics

What’s the difference between metal braces and Invisalign?

The main difference between these two orthodontic treatments is that Invisalign doesn’t use any metal to reposition the teeth. Additionally, Invisalign aligners can be removed for comfortable eating, brushing, and flossing, while braces are permanent until treatment is completed.

How long do orthodontic treatments take?

Treatment times vary depending on each patient’s smile. Alignment imperfections range in severity and thus lead to various treatment timelines. During your orthodontics consultation, we’ll assess your smile goals and determine the most convenient, affordable treatment for you.

What should I expect at my first orthodontic appointment?

During your first appointment, we’ll discuss your smile goals, budget, and desired timeline. We’ll take X-rays and answer any questions you may have about specific treatments we offer. Once your treatment has been determined, a customized plan will be created and explained from start to finish in great detail.

What can and can’t I eat with braces?

A good rule of thumb is to avoid foods that usually got stuck in your teeth before braces. Popcorn, corn on the cob, sticky candy, chips, and ice are some of the most challenging foods to eat with braces. Soft foods are best with braces, but if you’re going to eat more wholesome items, ensure you cut them into small pieces and use your molars as much as possible when chewing.
